By its name, the name "Yoshimeatsu" already arose my curiosity because the name is familiar. When I searched it on Google, I was able to confirm that it was because there is a sword-yielding character in Tekken game named "Yoshimitsu". Enough of the introduction, Yoshimeatsu is your typical Korean unligrill but what makes it different from other unliBBQ places is that it offers both Korean and Japanese dishes such sushi rolls, tempura, and kimchi.

This particular Yoshimeatsu branch is located in Taft and we expected that there will be long queue since there are schools and commercial establishments nearby. Fortunately, our group only waited a couple of minutes to be seated. Upon entering, I have already felt the usual Korean unligrill experience, Kpop, heat, and smoke. But one item very unique here are the individual tablets in each table used for ordering meat and side dishes as well as drinks. This innovation is not just 'high-tech' but also very efficient since customers will just enjoy their food instead of following-up orders. There will be also be lesser chances of missed orders and servers can allocate more of their time to serve the customers. Sauces and other condiments are also arranged per table, which you can use not just to elevate the taste of the meats and side dishes but also to create variation of tastes.

For a very affordable price of Php549.00, we are able to order unlimited servings of yakiniku, sushi rolls, tempura, and side dishes, egg, and cheese. At the end of the meal, we are also informed that there will be free single serving of soft-serve ice cream.

The long list of what you can order are as follows:

Although there are limited meat types are available, each has its own distinct flavor. Another good thing about this restaurant is that they allow you to choose between fatty beef or lean beef strips giving you freedom if you want to have something "healthier" or something tastier. For Beef, they have plain sliced beef, curry beef, spicy beef, sliced fatty beef. For Pork, they have herbed pork, spicy sliced pork.
They also have alternative options such as Tofu, Sausage, Cheeseball, Chicken Liver, and Chicken Yakitori.

Sushi rolls and side dishes

This is really the edge of Yoshimeatsu versus other Korean unli-bbq places. Aside from unlimited meats for grilling, they also have the following sides dishes - Gohan, Buttered Kimchi Rice, Cheese, Lettuce, Kani Salad, Seasoned Egg, Aji Tamago, Pamuchim (Scallion Salad), Miso Soup, Kimchi, Buta Dumplings, Tazukuri (Spicy Anchovies), Ebi Maki, California Maki, Spicy Tuna Maki, Kyoto Beef Roll, Kani Tempura, Ebi Tempura, and Mashed Potato.

For me, I really love the Ebi Maki and the Aji Tamago besides the usuals (cheese, kimchi, and lettuce). The Tazukuri, which is tasty, crunchy, and with the right spicy kick, is also at par with our Tazukuri sidedish from Jin Joo Korean Grill (See here). The mashed potato is also surprisingly good with very smooth and creamy texture, and seasoned very well.

For the cheese, be patient and wait for the cheese to crisp (but not burn) then add to your lettuce and meat.

Free serving of ice cream

The ice cream we had is a good palate cleanser to cap off after a very savory (and oily) meal.

Whew! That's a lot isn't it? Worthy of our #YesPAPA recommendation.
